I guess you can say that "About Us" is really about me, Cynthia Powell, since this is a home based business.

I hope I can let you know who I am, how I got started and the kind of business I hope to serve you with.

I am Cynthia Powell, a Christian, a wife, a mom to 3 boys and the owner of an at home business called Chicks & Cubs. I started Chicks & Cubs in 1999 because I wanted to be home with my son and still have some sort of work interest.

My husband and I chose the name Chicks & Cubs because we love animals and we thought that chicks sounds girly and cubs sounds boyish.

I started the business with the Patty-Cakes product line and have added other items that I love and that compliment each other. My husband's family has Patty-Cakes of the 4 children from over 45 years ago. The first time I saw them, I was hooked. I knew that was the kind of keepsake that I would love to have when I had children. So, many years later, I took my first son back to Atlanta to have his Patty-Cakes done by the same family that did my husbands many years earlier. It was then that I discovered that Patty-Cakes was a franchise type business. I was determined to start a Patty-Cakes business in my area and I did it in 1999.
